Creation of temporary warehouse & move to vertical lift system

The project already started in March, even before the corona perils had begun. The client wanted to centralise their 5 small parts warehouses into 1 large warehouse. The freed-up space was needed to build a new production line. Besides moving the warehouses, it was also necessary to digitise the articles, as this was not yet the case and because they would be storing the smaller pieces in a vertical lift system.

To ensure the removal and digitisation of the items, as well as the construction and set-up of the lift, the customer called on our services.

MDO Move first created a temporary warehouse with our moving vans, moved all parts there and created a digital list of all articles. Then MDO Technics was responsible for assembling the vertical lift system.

Finally, it was back to MDO Move to move all parts from the temporary warehouse to the lift. For this, the parts list first had to be uploaded into the machine's software and an optimal layout had to be sought with the available layout material.

We were also asked to develop labels and take high-quality photos of each article. The photos were then also uploaded into the lift's software; this helps in the search for the right item.

The project is a very good example of successful cooperation between MDO Move and MDO Technics. Both MDO Group subsidiaries complement each other perfectly in projects of this type!
