Gratings

When you have a warehouse, it's essential to ensure it is a safe environment. At MDO Group, we understand this better than anyone. That's why we offer various products to guarantee this safety, including gratings. Discover the possibilities for gratings that suit your situation.

Different types of gratings?

MDO Group offers different types of gratings for your storage systems. The main distinction is made between wire gratings and press gratings. However, both types of gratings can be highly flexible in design. The mesh pattern, material type, height, and thickness of the bearing bars can all vary and be tailored to your needs. These specific gratings can be installed as fall protection and/or as bearing gratings.

Tell us your requirements for your grating, and we will create a custom grating for you. Consider specific load capacity, mesh width, size, and more. We will customize the grating to your needs to find a tailored solution.

Press Gratings

Press Gratings

A press grating is a grid made up of bearing bars and filler bars. The bearing bars provide the load capacity of the grating, while the filler bars create the frame structure. In a press grating, the filler bars, usually made of cold-rolled flat steel, are pressed into the pre-punched bearing bars.

The load on a grating is determined by the interplay of span, bearing bars, and mesh pattern. More span results in more deflection and therefore lower load capacity. A denser mesh pattern provides more bearing bars per grating, allowing for higher load capacity.

To secure these gratings in your pallet racks or other storage systems, various types of clamps can be used, such as a single or double clamp B (saddle clamp) or a shot bolt fastening.

Wire Gratings

Wire Gratings

Wire gratings consist of vertical and horizontal steel wires that intersect and are connected. They are often used as shelving or fall protection. Our wire gratings are custom-made to meet the specific requirements of each project, with precise dimensions and load capacity.

Wire gratings are often used in pallet racks. For each beam, you can choose a solution of 1, 2, or 3 pieces per beam width. For example, for a beam of 2700 mm, you can choose 2 wire gratings of 1340 mm or 3 gratings of 890 mm wide. They are suitable for various configurations and purposes and can be adapted to different beam types and frame depths. The mesh deck can have a waterfall edge, a straight edge, or a raised edge. A raised edge acts as a rollback stop, making it an ideal way to prevent boxes from falling when pushed.

In special scenarios, we can perform calculations based on the number of pallet feet (2 or 3), the position of the pallet (partially or not on the beam), the position of the pallet feet (horizontal along the beams or vertical), and the number of pallets or boxes. The mesh deck has a special design with support beams at the bottom, placed 2.5 mm from each beam, making it extremely stable. Additionally, you can customize the wire grating for storing small loose goods.
